Community Engagement

Lanark County Support Services offers a broad spectrum of supports/ services that are person centered, flexible and individualized. We believe in helping individuals identify their future dreams and goals, and assist them to start planning early for meaningful outcomes and successful futures. 

The following categories of support provide ideas and / options that can be chosen and/ or combined to develop and “individualized” plan and schedule best suited to each persons’ preferences and goals. 

LCSS offers  a comprehensive supported employment service that supports people with developmental disabilities find and succeed in paid employment, internships and/or work experience in their community.

Transition Planning

Transition Support Services is designed to assist young adults with developmental disabilities make a successful transition from school to a wide range of community participation activities including employment.

Adult Learning

Meaningful life skills development is facilitated through opportunities that assist individuals to become more independent in their homes, their communities and at work through individualized planning and instruction.

Volunteer Connections

LCSS can provide supports to Individuals who wish to share their time as volunteers in their community.

Social and Recreational Connections

Social connection development is fostered through a wide range of social/ recreational opportunities based on personal choice and preference directed by individuals.
